About the job:

You will be responsible for the visual look and feel of a production. This includes setting up and operating the Unreal Engine live keying system, working with the director and other creatives to achieve the desired look, managing a team of audio and light technicians, and ensuring that the live keying system is running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate the Unreal Engine VP - live keying system & camera tracking Based on ready previs, make sure light and camera execution is what has been set by director and creative team Work with the director and other creatives to achieve the desired visual look and feel Manage a team of audio and light artists Ensure that the live keying system is running smoothly and efficiently Liaise with other departments, such as art, sound, and VFX, to ensure that the visual look of the production is consistent Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in live keying and Unreal Engine.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in cinematography, camera tracking, live keying or VFX
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with Unreal Engine

Job description

Collaboration with Director: Working closely with the director to understand their artistic vision and translate it into visual storytelling

Shot Composition: Planning and setting up shots to create visually appealing and meaningful scenes that enhance the narrative

Camera Selection and Setup: Choosing the appropriate cameras and lenses for each shot and setting up the camera equipment for optimal image quality

Lighting Design: Designing and executing lighting setups to create the desired mood and atmosphere for each scene

Camera Movement: Deciding on camera movements, such as pans, tilts, dollies, and steadicam shots, to add dynamism and emotional impact to the visuals

Framing and Blocking: Working with actors and the director to block the movements and positions of characters within the frame for each shot

Lens Choice: Selecting lenses that achieve the desired depth of field, perspective, and visual effects

Color Grading: Collaborating with the post-production team to ensure the intended color and visual tone are achieved during the editing process

Camera Crew Management: Leading and directing camera operators, camera assistants, and other crew members to execute the cinematographic vision

Location Scouting: Visiting and assessing shooting locations to determine the best angles and setups for filming
